The Problem
MY Blue Vision, a 44m super yacht constructed in 2007, was to be featured at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018.
Unfortunately, being 5 years since paint works were last conducted, the transom, which is coloured Midnight Blue, was suffering badly from cracking, fading and sun spots. The challenge set was to get the yacht presentable for the MYS within 3 weeks.
The Solution
After sanding more and more cracking was discovered, the Rokoat team worked tirelessly to prepare and repair the two quarters, transom and the passerelles door.
The main project was conducted in port at Nice whilst the door, hatch and name board were sent to be sprayed in house. Rokoat sanded, filled and brush painted achieving a remarkable result given the exposed conditions and timeframe.
The Result
Not only was the yacht ready to be presented at the MBS but 7 months later and the fact in reality there was a requirement for full paint works, the paintwork is still in excellent condition.
“Considering the job was completed in port without a tent and the genuine need of a full paint job, the result is incredible. The Rokoat team worked closely with us to ensure we were presentable and surpassed our expectations.”
